RCU Installation part 1 - Requirement Analysis


This post will tell you how to install Repository Creation Utility or RCU in Linux.
basically RCU is a utility used to load pre-defined schemas into the database. These schemas are used as a reference or accessed by the applications or SOA composites and etc... Now you know the purpose of RCU. lets continue with the installation of RCU in Linux.
WARNING:
Always use the correct version of RCU for installing the corresponding version of software.
example,
for installing SOA Suite v11.1.1.7.0 you will need the right verion of RCU which happens to be RCU v11.1.1.7.0. Similarly for installing OIM v11.1.2.2.0 you will need RCU v11.1.2.2.0 and SOA Suite v11.1.1.7.0 which is a mandatory. So please remember to install the correct version of the RCU depending on your requirement.

Software Requirement:
You will need the below softwares:
  1. Oracle 11g Database 11.2.0.x.x
  2. RCU 11.1.x.x.x
