Oracle Identity Manager Installation part 1 - Requirement Analysis


I had a request from one of my colleague to install Oracle Identity manager for a client and I thought I could document it here in this blog. I have listed the order of steps and measurement I took to install OIM please read it before you proceed with the installation:

System Requirement:
  1. The First Step is to verify that you have the minimum/recommended standard PC to install this software. I recommend a minimum of i3 Processor with atleast 4~6gb RAM.
  2. I recommend VMware workstation for building virtual machines. Other alternates are VMware player and Oracle VM
  3. Please remember to update your linux RPMs. Since I am using Oracle Linux, please refer to this link to see how to update RPMs in Oracle Linux, Update the Linux Kernel Parameter Limit, If you have no clue about it, please refer this link and Increase user limits. If you have no clue about it, please refer this link.

Software Requirement:
The list of software which you need for installing OIM:
  1. PowerISO or Daemon tools
  2. VMware Workstation/VMware player
  3. Oracle Enterprise Linux v6.4 x86_64
  4. Oracle database 11g ( i used Oracle 11g DB 11.2.0.3)
  5. RCU (11.1.2.2.0)
  6. WebLogic Server 10.3.6.
  7. Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0
  8. Oracle Identity Manager 11.1.2.2.0
  9. OPatch patch of version 11.2.0.3.6 for Oracle software releases 11.2.0.x (DEC 2013)
  10. OPatch patch of version 11.1.0.11.0 for Oracle software releases 11.1.0.x (JUL 2014)
NOTE:
Please use the Oracle 11g Database 11.1.x database if you do not have access to download the following OPatch
  • OPatch patch of version 11.2.0.3.6 for Oracle software releases 11.2.0.x (DEC 2013)
  • OPatch patch of version 11.1.0.11.0 for Oracle software releases 11.1.0.x (JUL 2014)
