Oracle Identity Manager Installation part 2 - Preparing the system

In this post, I will tell you how to prepare a system for installing Oracle Identity Manager software. Before you continue with the OIM installation, there are a few mandatory things to be done. I have listed them as shown below:

  1. Install Oracle Database 11g
  2. Increase Database Parameters: Sessions, Open_cursors, Transactions, Processes (Please refer NOTE 1)
  3. Install RCU 11.1.2.2.0. (please refer NOTE 2, NOTE 3)
  4. Install Weblogic 11g
  5. Install SOA Suite 11g v11.1.1.7.0

(NOTE 1: This step must be done before installing RCU)
(NOTE 2: Install the relevant schemas for OIM)
(NOTE 3: Database must be up before installing RCU)

You can access the above mentioned steps by clicking on them. These steps are mandatory and they should be done at any cost as without them Oracle Identity Manager software installation in not possible and make sure you are using the right version of the softwares. P.S. For installing OIM server, SOA server is a mandatory but OAM server does not require SOA server.
